Ramps connecting Mass Pike, I-95 north down to one lane until 2027

WESTON – A major disruption to your commute got underway on Monday as a multi-year lane closure went into effect overnight. The closure will impact drivers along the Massachusetts Turnpike and Interstate 95 in the Newton and Weston area.
Ramp slowdowns are expected for commuters driving between the Mass Pike and I-95 northbound in Newton and Weston because of major construction work on bridges at the interchange.
Two ramps that connect the highways will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the fall of 2027.
MassDOT previously announced the following details about the closure:
According to MassDOT, work is being done on eight bridges in the area. Five of the bridges will be completelely replaced, and others will be rehabilitated.
The agency said the closures are a necessary step to keep construction crews safe.
MassDOT said drivers should anticipate delays, reduce their speeds, and use caution through the construction zones.
There will be signs in the area, and police on scene to alert drivers.
A nearby project that could take 6 to 10 years and cost about $2 billion is still in the permitting stage. That project aims to straighten out the Mass Pike in Allston.
